Death Care

Navigating the end of life with care, intention, and deep support

Few things are as disorienting and overwhelming as facing the end of life. That’s true whether it’s your own life or a loved one’s. It’s especially true in a culture that fears mortality and provides very little guidance or support in facing it.

Death touches on our biggest spiritual questions and activates our existential hopes and fears.

Death surfaces old family patterns and relationship dynamics, in ways that can be deeply painful or profoundly healing—often both at once.

And, unfortunately, death in this culture involves a giant tangle of medical, legal, and logistical questions that can get in the way of the transformative process death and grieving offer all involved.

Those aren’t things to navigate alone. If you or a loved one is facing the end of life, and you’re wanting to navigate it with care, intention, and deep practical and spiritual support, I would love to work with you.

How I Can Help

  • Facilitated Conversations

Are there parts of your loved one’s life you’ve never been able to ask about? Do you want to have a better understanding of their hopes, beliefs, and wishes for after they’re gone? The end of life process can offer beautiful new ways of connecting with each other—but it can be hard to step out of the rhythm of everyday conversation and relational patterns without some outside support. I love facilitating conversations that ensure everyone involved has a chance to share, be heard, and more fully feel the love and care that exists between you.

  • Ritual and Ceremony Design

Ritual and ceremony help us make meaning from experiences that are otherwise too big and too heavy to carry. I can help you craft ways of honoring the life and death of those you love in ways that are much more authentic, resonant, and heart-full than the cookie-cutter options our culture tends to offer. You know yourself and your loved ones best, and you have everything you need to create an experience that speaks to the heart of the dying person’s personality and wishes. I’d love to help you uncover and shape the beauty and insight that’s already there.

  • Reiki Sessions

Reiki, a Japanese energy healing modality, can be deeply supportive for individuals at the threshold of death. It provides comfort, eases pain, and facilitates connection to spirit. I can come to your loved one’s home or facility to offer that gentle care while their body works hard to move through the dying process.

  • Grief Care

I offer 1-1 support for grievers before, during, and after moments of major loss. If what you’re moving through feels to hard to bear, I’d love to sit with you and support you. When it’s given the space and care it needs, grief can become a powerful force that does sacred, transfomative work in your life. I can support you through the long, non-linear unfolding of your relationship to grief—which is an extension of your love for those you grieve.
